This will be a fun way for everyone to see what upcoming YW activities and events we have planned, and check out pictures from past activities and events! Also if you have something you want to share, thoughts or pictures, or have any favorite quotes, you can email them to me and I will post anything I feel is appropriate for our YW's blog. My email, evehr1@hotmail.com
I am new to Young Women's, I was just called to serve as a Laurel advisor. My name is Eve Lakey, I look forward to getting to know all of you, as I have heard wonderful things! I thought it would be a nice way for you to get to know me by me bearing my testimony.
I am 34 years old. So I should be considered old and wise, but I am sure if you ask one of my 3 kids they would say I am just old. I have two handsome, funny sons, and one beautiful, fun to be with daughter. I am very blessed. Often times I feel overwhelmed with all the blessings I have been given. It is hard to feel as though I deserve them! I know without a doubt that my Heavenly Father loves me, and KNOWS ME, just like he loves each of you and knows you all individually. He is all knowing, he is MIGHTY, he is the creator of this breathtakingly beautiful earth and all of it's amazing wonders, and YOU are DAUGHTERS to this most powerful, loving King. WOW! That must mean you are pretty darn special. I have lived with the Gospel and without it. I can PROMISE you that living it will bring you peace, happiness, hopefulness, just an overall feeling of contentment and joy. When I stay close to my Father in Heaven by having daily personal prayer and scripture study, it really helps me to make decisions in my life that I can feel good about, knowing his Spirit is close at hand. I do not like having to second guess myself, so that is nice when I can trust that I am following the Spirits guidance. That is another blessing I am grateful for, having the Spirit in my life. So KEEP it with you ladies, ALWAYS!:)There have been times in my life when I unintentionally distanced myself from the Spirit by letting things of the world distract me. Those times proved to be some of the most trying,& frustrating, even though I may have been going through the SAME things as before. Life truly is more difficult when I don't keep close to what I know to be right and true. I love the Gospel. I love my Father in Heaven.I am so overwhelmed with love, admiration, and gratitude for my brother, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I want to be like him, I want to love as he loves, & forgive as he forgives.I want nothing more then the people I care about to flourish in happiness and joy here on earth and on into the eternities. We can help one another do so by sharing the strengths we have been given, even through humilty we can also learn from our weeknesses. I can't wait to teach in this calling, and to also be taught by each of you. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
